Field Applications Specialist UK
Location
UK - Oxford
Salary
Good Basic + Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits
POSITION OVERVIEW
Field Applications Specialist
Life Sciences – Biomolecular Analysis – Instrumentation
UK – Oxford
Good Basic + 15% Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits
The Company
The client is a well financed and innovative European manufacturer of instrumentation that is using ground-breaking, unique, patented technologies to analyse and characterise the structure of biomolecules. Their instruments and the technology behind them lend themselves to new and innovative applications which are being well received in the life science community and beyond.
Using mass photometry principles their label free systems mean samples can be used in small quantities and on a repeat basis giving significant cost saving benefits to the end user. Similarly, they have already developed newer versions of their instruments which feature automated pipetting, taking away any inherent human error variable from the analysis equation.
Established in 2018 as an offshoot of work being done at Oxford University, they recently secured $75 million of new funding and are ready to scale the company’s expansion programme further. They currently employ 150 people, but this number is due to grow significantly in Europe and N America primarily.
The Role
Although UK based this role will involve support pre and post sales efforts across all of W Europe so there will be a requirement to travel (to 60%).
The Person
The client will consider well qualified scientists from molecular biology, biochemistry or biophysics disciplines (Masters or PhD) who have experience working with a variety of bioanalytical techniques.
If you have some form of customer facing exposure to your hands on lab-based experience so much the better.
As important as your experience however is your attitude and character. This is a young, already successful but rapidly growing company. You need to be the sort of person who actively seeks and welcomes the challenges of a developing company, someone who wants and enjoys additional responsibilities and does not hide behind a corporate structure or a brand name.
The Rewards
If you feel that describes you, then you will enjoy high levels of job satisfaction, thrive on the lack of red tape and inertia associated with bigger companies and respond well to an energised and proactive work environment where people who make the difference are appreciated and rewarded, not just in terms of money but by career progression as the company continues its impressive upward trajectory.
